Happy Birthday, Gramps!

Today was a great day. I had my first play date. Luke, who is 8 weeks old, and his mom, Lauren, came over to play. I, however, slept through most of the visit. But, it was fun for the moms to share stories and experiences about their new sons. We hope to get together again soon. Luke looks to be a lot of fun!

Tuesday, April 29

Happy Tuesday. I started my day watching "Where in the World in Matt Lauer". Like Matt, I hope to one day go see the tulips in the Netherlands with my dad. Then, I enjoyed a morning nap sleeping on my mom's chest--I think she even dozed off. By the afternoon, we were ready for walk, particularly since the weather was sunny, breezy, and in the low 60's. Mommy handled the Baby Bjorn just fine. Once again, I slept during the walk and woke up as soon as we were home. But, then daddy got home, and we enjoyed some silly time together (see photos). Tonight's big plan is a bath--I am getting my vocal chords ready!

Monday, April 28

Today was the first day that I was on my own with my mom. We did really well! I had a lot of awake time, so we sang some songs and played a game. I stared a long time at my black and white flashcards that Pop made me. And, when I sleep I still prefer to be in someone's arms but my second choice is the boppy (see photo). I am sure the Board of Pediatrics would disapprove but I like it fine. I tried to sleep in my bassinet today but I only lasted about 15 minutes. As for my bath last night, I think I liked it a little bit more. I only cried once I had to get out. I know my mom and dad love baths. In fact, my mom finally got to really try out the new spa tub tonight. Since, she really wasn't supposed to take baths while I was in her tummy, she never got to truly enjoy the new spa tub until tonight! I am sure I will enjoy that tub as well some day.

Sunday, April 27

It is hard to believe that I am already two weeks old. My parents are just starting to emerge out of the fog. Though still sleep deprived, they are getting the hang of things. We have learned a lot about patience, love, nourishment, and survival. Lots of thanks to Moppy and Pop who helped a great deal during my first weeks. We are now on our own!

Today I was visited by my Uncle Dave and cousin, Eva--they are really nice folks! And, I was actually awake for part of the visit. For the rest of the day, I will probably just stay inside. It is cloudy and cool--much different from yesterday's 80 degree day when I enjoyed taking a walk in the park though I slept through it.
