Batter Up! on Tuesday, April 17, 2012

I made my Blastball debut on Saturday at 1:00 pm. Though a little tired from my birthday partying, I completed the four innings (with a few walks off of the field, asking if I could go home to take a nap). But, I hung in there and got some good hits and good fielding. We are the Cubs, and I have a great team! We are learning to support each other, run the base (we only go to first base), hit the ball, and to field (though when the ball is hit into the field we all follow and pile on it). We have two games a week, and of course the highlight of each game is the snack at the end.

Celebration on Sunday, April 14, 2012

Celebration! One of my new favorite songs is Kool and Gang's "Celebration". It was on the top of my mom's wedding do-not-play list but I am humming it all of the time. Celebration was our theme of the week. I was thrilled to celebrate my fourth birthday many times, many ways. I took one of my favorite treats, Rice Krispy Treats, to school on my birthday. And, later that day, Mom, Dad, and I enjoyed a dinner out and Georgetown Cupcakes. The next day, Nanny and Grandpa came to visit and lavished me with attention, love, and gifts. Over the weekend, I celebrated with a few of my buddies at the mini golf course, and then on Sunday, I bowled with my cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. By the way, with a little help from bumpers and ball guide, I scored 120!

Easter Blessings on Sunday, April 8, 2012

I am blessed!

Staycation Continued on Thursday, April 6, 2012

Our staycation continued with great fun--a concert, mini golf & batting cages, trip to Wegmans (worth the long drive--they have a kid zone for drop-off fun), playdates, egg hunts, and enjoying time off of school (lately going to school has not been at the top of my fun things to do list).

Vacation Staycation on Monday, April 3, 2012

Back from Florida, I now get another week off as my school is on spring break. So, this week we are having a staycation and enjoying sites and activities around town. Today: ice skating! It was my first time out on skates. While I did not feel too comfortable at first, I gained a bit more confidence pushing a bucket. I eventually tried a bit of free stylin', which was some ungraceful skate marching. But, my favorite was when my mom pushed me around on the bucket. Next, throw in there a trip to the mall and their play area, more Legos, and a haircut--it was a great first day of Staycation Spring Break!

Fond of Florida on Thursday, March 29, 2012

Today was our last day in Florida. When asked what was my favorite part, I replied, "Too many." We were able to get in some time at the pool before we had to leave, and Moppy and Pop then drove us to the airport. It didn't take much before I was asleep on the ride and then slept through most of the airport. Vacation wears me out! But, I am a pretty adaptable guy, and though I am fond of Florida, I told my mom that I was looking forward to going home and seeing my dad, "who I missed 100." Thanks Moppy, Pop, Aunt Lisbeth, Uncle Bobby, Kylie, Keelyn, and Ella for the 'awesome' time!

SeaWorld and Downtown Disney on Wednesday, March 28, 2012

Today we headed to SeaWorld, all nine of us! It was a great day taking in a few shows, visiting the beautiful aquariums, and playing in the little kid area with playgrounds, climbing ropes, rides, and big sand boxes. In the evening, we went to Downtown Disney to celebrate Kylie's birthday. I got to sit at the kid table with Kylie, Keelyn, and Ella, and I just laughed and played around--cousin heaven for me! The weather continues to be beautiful, warm and sunny but with just enough cloud cover to keep it just right.

LegoLand on Tuesday, March 27, 2012

LegoLand is about 45 minutes outside of Orlando and worth the trip. It is a new theme park to Central Florida, and it is the perfect 'playground' for an almost four-year old, like me (meanwhile, the cousins headed to Busch Gardens and the grandparents came with me)! Everywhere you turned there were things created out of Legos, such as a plumber at the bathroom or little foxes next to the wooded path. One area of park included amazing mini models of great cities, including NYC, Havana, and Washington DC. I enjoyed recognizing our local landmarks in Lego. I also got to see how Legos are made and conquered a tough choice of picking out a Lego for my souvenir (which I promptly helped to put together upon our return to our room and played with all evening, doing a great job of keeping track of all of the small accessories). And, there were lots of fun rides just my size! My favorite was the Driving Schools Lego cars.

Hanging Loose on Monday, March 26, 2012

With my cousins off swimming with the dolphins (you must be at least six years old to participate), we decided to just to have a hanging out, lounging kind of day. There is much to do at the resort, so we enjoyed some time in the Kid Zone, on the beach, and by the pool, and then of course scooting. If you can't tell by all of the big smiles below, I am having a great time--my mom is convinced that I am just a summer time kid!

Florida Bound on Sunday, March 25, 2012

Today, my mom and I were Florida bound before the sun rose. We arrived in Orlando to join Moppy and Pop and one set of my cousins (along with their parents). As a bonus, we also got the pleasure of the company of more kids, our Florida friends, Adam and Bailey (along with their parents). What a great time we all had, spending most of the afternoon in the pool and then just hanging out and playing. Not only was the day just weather perfect but it zipped by before I even noticed that I was tired from getting up so early. It was a great way to kick off our spring vacation!

Welcome Spring on Saturday, March 24, 2012

I keep remarking on how green everything is starting to look. And, it was such a bright, sunny week. "It must be spring," I say. Other signs of spring include our rhododendron blooming, ice cream eating, and t-ball practicing! T-ball started this week, so fun! This year I am actually playing Blastball, a precursor to t-ball. We work on skills and when games start next month, we play only three innings with no outs and no score with all players batting each inning. I love batting but am often pleasantly distracted by my teammates or the dirt when in the field (particularly when we are to be standing "baseball ready"). And, I love running the bases; I make my way around with huge smile on my face!
