Beach Time on July 15, 2013
No matter that it was the hottest week of the summer and one of the hottest weeks on record. I was at the beach! I got to show off my biking skills, just riding around the neighborhood with confidence and ease. I also got to show off my swimming skills, even doing flips underwater. Three in row was my record! We also enjoyed all of my other favorites: Boardwalk time, Surf, Candy Kitchen, Grotto's Arcade (and that was just the first night). And, I added a few new favorites: Shaved ice, Bethany's new bonfire, and a new mini golf location on Fenwick Island.
Happy 4th on July 4, 2013
We enjoyed a nice quiet, neighborhood-y kind of July 4th celebration. I rode in our neighborhood bike parade. Like last year, I was excited to get to the front of the line and win the parade! We also enjoyed a cookout with our neighbor and our own stupendous firework display. I was so excited for our fireworks that I actually starting previewing our fireworks days early.

Summer Camp! on July 12, 2013
This summer I attended three weeks of summer camp at my mom's school. It was great fun riding off with her each day. Once at camp, we went our separate ways until 3:00 pm in the afternoon. That is a long day! I made lots of new friends, learned new songs and games, and had a swimming lesson everyday (I got an advanced swimming certificate by the end of the session). On July 4, we invited parents to our patriotic parade, and later in the session we had a Summer Fiesta. While I had a wonderful time, I was happy when the session came to end (my mom, too!). I looked forward to more free summer play.

Two Wheeling on Wednesday, June 19, 2013
To fill you in, I got a new bike this spring and have enjoyed riding around, as usual going fast! On our last trip to the beach, my one of my training wheels was damaged, so they came off. Ever since, I have been riding with the help of my dad keeping me steady. TONIGHT, for the first time, my dad let go, and I sped away! (Of course, I was so excited that I did not put my helmet on for this video.) I can ride a two wheeler! This is a huge day in the life of a five-year old boy--take a look! Fabulous Father's Day Weekend on Sunday, June 16, 2013
We had a fantastic time celebrating Dad this weekend. And, there was much to celebrate! In addition to celebrating the best dad in the world, we also played our final tball game of the season. We had a great season (no wins, no losses) thanks to some awesome coaches. After the game, we headed out to Ann Arundel County for the day's surprise--Medieval Times! It was full of knights, duels, jousting, and horsemanship. We loved it; it was truly a fun show, and most of the time I was on the edge of my seat, waving and cheering for our assigned black and white knight. I am ready to go back! On Sunday, we did just what my dad wanted--hang out. We filled it with lots of good food, including farmer's market finds, and Dad's favorite, Dogfish Head. Finally, in my opinion, no celebration is complete without sparklers. Happy Father's Day to many great guys in my life!
A Sunny Start to Summer on Monday, June 17, 2013
Ah, summertime! I have already had one week of camp, and I am back for more! It is a great outlet for all of my energy, and I have met lots of new kids as well as keeping up with my preschool friends. We have also enjoyed time at the pool, on the tennis court, at the fountain, and of course with friends.
Preschool Graduation on Wednesday, June 5, 2013
I had a wonderful four years at Mt. Olivet. My mom finds it hard to believe that the amount of time I spent at our beloved Mt. Olivet is equivalent to the time I will spend in high school or even college. Wow!
I also had a great year in the 4's class. I certainly pushed some boundaries and the patience of my teachers (and classmates), but Ms. Lindsay always had kind words for me and showed me lots of love.
At our promotion ceremony, all of the 4's classes gathered in the sanctuary. We all stood in the front and sang three songs, Make New Friends, Jesus Loves Me, and He's Got the Whole World in His Hands. Then, we were each called to receive a certificate. It was a special day!

I'm Five (continued again) on Sunday, April 14, 2013
Today I celebrated with all of my school chums. I invited the boys in my class, along with my lifetime playgroup pals and best buddy, Tyler, to tumble, run, jump, swing, and zoom along with me at Barcroft gym. We had a great time and worked up quite the sweat! We then headed to the mezzanine for pizza and cake. A great time was had by all!

I Am Five! on Saturday, April 13, 2013
Now that I am five... this is how I begin many of my sentences these days. It is awesome being five! I am bigger, stronger, smarter. My birthday also marks the beginning of spring, which has been a bit delayed here in Arlington. We have emerged out of our winter hibernation (and blogging, which also went into hibernation, is back). Hooray! It has been a busy few days with birthday celebrations, playdates, and my first t-ball game of the season.
Opening presents on the morning of my birthday;
my favorite has been Wii MarioKart.

These are some of the cupcakes I took to school on my birthday.
It was a beautiful spring day, April 11.
By the way, did I tell you that I was five?

Temperatures to Celebrate on Tuesday, January 29, 2013
An almost-seventy degree day in January is cause for celebration. We went to the park (no coat!), and then went out for ice cream. One of my favorite parks is Chestnut Hills, full of abandoned trucks, cars, big wheels, and toys. Many don't work, but I mostly enjoy the variety, opportunity, and possibility of finding something really good with which to play. Woo hoo!

January Jots on Monday, January 28, 2013
It was not my intent to let so much time pass from the last posting. The Christmas season was wonderful, and I had a great time with family and friends while traveling near and far. How quickly it becomes fond memories!
And, then we were hit with winter, which has meant lots of time indoors (making and playing Legos, spy gear, spy potions, and Hot Wheels), snuffling noses, colder temperatures, and a tiny bit of snow. To keep things interesting, I have started a few new activities, tumbling at JW Tumbles, indoor t-ball, and a little Olympians class. It is not quite the same as being outside, which we still do, enjoying some my vehicles such as my ATV, big wheel, and beloved scooter. I leave you with a promise to do a better job of keeping up with my world!
