Happy 4th of July! The day started after a good night's sleep (once I finally got to sleep; maybe that is the trick, a later bedtime!). Our neighborhood hosted a 4th of July gathering and parade. Unfortunately, we were just five minutes late and missed the entire parade (it was a short route!). But, I enjoyed watching the kids eat donuts and run around after the parade, including our neighbor Annabelle (see pic2). We had another cookout with Aunt Sharon, and then our afternoon plans in the park were postponed due to rain. Oh well! We stayed in and sang Beatles songs (see video). I was asleep by the time the fireworks started. Though we can't see the DC fireworks from our house, we can hear them. But, I was unphased by the distant booms and blasts. It was a happy holiday.
