A Half Birthday on Sunday, October 11

I wonder if this is how I can celebrate my half birthday every year--beach side! I was up at my normal early time, but what a treat--I hung out in bed with my mom and dad and watched TV while nibbling on cereal. This made me wonder again, why can't I always do this... vacation includes fun breaks to our normal routine! We had a proper breakfast a bit later and while doing some more exploring and scoping out beaches (I think all of the other resort guest must have been sleeping late because we had the place to ourselves), it started to rain. However, it wasn't long before the warm Bahamian sun burned off the clouds, and it turned into a great day! The first beach we hit was Lagoon Beach in the middle of the resort. There is a very gradual walk in the water, no waves, and soft, white sand. This is the perfect beach for me! I was able to walk all around. I threw rocks we found under the sand. And, I soon realized that if I crawled in the water, I had great buoyancy, and it felt as if I was swimming. We also watched my dad go down some pretty cool water slides. If only I was a few feet taller... After a fabulous, LONG nap, the plan was to see more marine life but somehow I made my way back to the lagoon and happened to fall into the water in my clothes. In fact, I purposely "kurplunked" my way right into the water (note in this picture my parents are trying to get me out of the water, but "I can't hear you"). So, back to the hotel room to change into my bathing suit, which is what I should have been wearing all along. Needless to say, our late afternoon consisted of more time in the pools and on the beach, this time along the Caribbean Sea. Here the waves were bigger and the water clear and warm. More play became my mantra for the day. I called it out! The last thing on our agenda was an ice cream sundae to celebrate my half birthday and my mom's half birthday too! I ate the whipped cream, and my parents ate the ice cream! More play tomorrow!
