Ah, the Bahamas! Warm, friendly, and beautiful! How quickly I converted to island time and left all of my worries behind (nursery school has been weighing heavily on my mind and don't get me started on the diaper rash issues). Our trip was fairly painless though

we did run into a bit of bad luck. We sat on the tarmac in DC for an extra 45 minutes. Then, once we landed in Miami we had to sit another 20 minutes because the gate was not ready. Therefore, we missed our connection in Miami. We caught the next one fairly quickly. But, then our suitcase did not arrive in the Bahamas. I must admit, and I am happy to brag, that I was an angel through it all! I had a few moments of discomfort, calling out, "All done plane." But, my mom and dad had pretty good bags of tricks, and I was easily entertained. I took two short naps, and when I awoke from my second one, I found myself in a lovely hotel room, and then I was ready to go. Today we got a lay of the land; we explored. Atlantis is quite extensive, and we only covered a few sections of it in our walks this afternoon. I especially enjoyed an exhibit called "The Dig", which includes amazing aquarium tanks of exotic marine life. The jellyfish

and lobster were cool. But, mainly I just loved being able to walk around, especially through the tunnels that were a part of the exhibit. Another highlight was walking through the casino--I was enamored with the lights and sounds! After a great dinner, we hit the pool. Luckily, my mom put my bathing suit in her carry on; however, that was the only other clothing she packed for me in her carry on luggage. Lesson learned! Include a few more of the essentials in the carry on. So, until they closed at 7:00 pm, we played in the awesome kiddie pools. Our long trip seemed like a distant memory, as I splashed, waded, and enjoyed the setting sun. And, right before my pushed-back bedtime at 8:00 pm, our suitcase arrived. Just in time! For snuggling into my pajamas and reading some fresh books (we completely wore out the three books that we took on the plane). And, with only a little bit of coercing, I fell asleep on a fun day one at the Bahamas.
